Background

Since the beginning of the epidemic, many people around me have started hiking and paying attention to fitness. But I found that for beginners, there are actually many worries, such as: not sure what kind of mountain their abilities are suitable for, not knowing where to start, what to bring, etc.

Therefore, I designed Easy Hiking. An app designed for beginners who are interested in hiking. Users can find the mountain that best suit their level or team up with others to take their first steps on the trail!

Key features

Information Architecture

Color, Typography & Components

Setting up a design system and creating components can make the subsequent design process more efficient and easier to manage.

Wireframe, Mockup & Prototype

Although group projects can hone communication skills, due to the division of labor, members' participation is often scattered. But this personal side project gave me the opportunity to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes myself.

Page details

The trail information page will display more introductions and information, and the sharing of related logs will also be displayed at the bottom of the page, allowing users to directly link to the trail experiences shared by others.

On the log page, you will see the content and pictures of everyone sharing their climbing experience. You can also leave messages and interact with other mountain friends.

The group hiking page will display the organizer, current participants, basic information, route planning and notes, so that people who are interested in participating can view it freely.

Personal sections include other functions, such as personal information settings, friend list, hiking tool list, etc.

Iteration

Beginners may not know what to bring or what to wear when going to a certain hiking trail for the first time.

Therefore, if recommended equipment can be added to the trail information page, it should make the experience better for beginners.
